Hi, I'm Charene - and I've been right where you are.
I started refinishing furniture in my garage with no formal training and no idea what I was doing. I learned by doing it — making mistakes, trying the wrong products, figuring out what worked and, just as importantly, what didn’t.
Over the years, I’ve refinished hundreds of pieces and built Olive Street Designs into a community of more than 735,000 followers across YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. Along the way, teaching has become one of my favorite parts of what I do.
That’s why I created this workshop.
I wanted to take everything I’ve learned and put it into one clear, practical path, from choosing a piece and understanding what it’s made of, all the way through repairs, prep, painting, staining, finishing and selling.
